Cubical Chronicles (Cont.) – From Work to Play

How to be a style pro for happy hour.

If you’ve ever worked at a company that requires business attire and tried to enjoy a few libations after work is done, this post is for you. Continuing from the outfit on what to wear to a business meeting comes the more relaxed side of the scenario, what to wear as you relax into a properly-earned happy hour.

How can you easily change into something a little comfier without going home? I’m going to show you how. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Navy Blue Suit

  • Navy Blue T-Shirt

  • White Causal Sneakers

“How do you put a look like this together, ahead of heading out for your work day? Simple. Prep in advance.”

And just like that, your freshness has arrived. How do you put a look like this together, ahead of heading out for your work day? Simple. Prep in advance. The one piece that makes this easily interchangeable is the navy-blue suit. When you’re considering prepping looks for events after work, think of the suit as your base and work everything else around that. It simplifies the number of things you need to consider. You'll simply bring along the couple of items to switch out (t-shirt, shoes, accessories) and your set!

As you can see, swapping out the stuffy dress shirt/shoes for a breezy t-shirt and casual sneakers is a must. Depending on the weather, I’d also consider rolling up the sleeves on the jacket.

Monochromatic looks work for any-body type. Especially tall & slim guys. Pick up a t-shirt that doesn’t carry any large graphics on it. Prints will take away from the monochromatic feel. The shoes should also be just as casual/simple. I recommend a white casual shoe to tie things together. It breaks up the monochromatic look with a clean pop of color. Accessories are your call. It’s happy hour so use pieces that make sense for where you’re headed. If the black band watch that you wore to the meeting is enough, roll with that.

Figuring out what to wear to different scenarios can be tough. Not to mention what to wear for your specific body type. The good news is, you yield the power of the internet!
