5 Stylish Ways to Wear Navy Blue Pants P.2

What to wear getting off the plane and into the office.

“This is your captain speaking. On behalf of Charged You too Much Airlines, we’d like to thank you for choosing to fly with us. We hope to charge you more in the future. If you have checked bags, you’ll find them on carousel…”

Sound a bit familiar? 😆 You’ve just arrived in the city you’ll be working in for the next five days and need to swing by the office. How do you transition for the “Comfortably Cool” look you wore on the plane into something appropriate for the office? We’ve got just the thing. Take a 👀 below:

· Gray Sweater

· White Dress Shirt

· Navy Blue Pants

· White Minimalist Shoes (I’ll explain)

Fresh! When it comes to traveling, finding a piece a clothing that you can use in multiple way is extremely valuable. The navy-blue pants are that item in this scenario. To step it up after stylishly arriving to your destination, start by adding a dress shirt. Dress shirts automatically add a level of class to any look it’s paired with. Be sure to wear a shirt that fits well in both your arms and neck. Here’s why, if you wear a dress shirt that’s too large for you and layer the sweater over the top, it’s going to look like you stuffed your sweater with a bunch of tissue. Meaning, the fabric will bunch up on the inside and throw off your proportions. You’ll also want to avoid sleeves that’re too short or too long. Once you’ve layered the sweater over the shirt, be sure to keep the dress shirt collar inside the sweater neck-hole if possible. Stray away from purposely propping the dress shirt collar outside of it. One final note, keep the dress shirt tucked in if it’s much longer than the sweater. It’ll keep the look a little more formal.

The gray sweater. This is one of the first things people will notice on you because of the contrast to the navy-blue. Again, wearing a sweater that fits your body well is important. Since the dress shirt is layered underneath, getting the right size sweater is imperative. Avoid any fabrics that bunch. You’re going for a nice, clean, smooth, tailored feel.

Speaking of a tailored feel, the navy-blue pants should fit great of you too. If you see yourself wearing these pants often, take them into a tailor and have them adjusted. It’s like $12!

Finally, come the “White Minimalist” shoes. What does that mean exactly? White Minimalist shoes are a pair of shoes that have minimal design features and are typically a leather or faux-leather material. They’re simple but effective. These shoes work great here because they’re not distracting but catch the eye of on lookers.

Considering that you’re headed into the office, wearing a bunch of jewelry doesn’t fit well in this scenario. A simple, black band watch with a white face works great. Adding a minimalist steel bracelet could also work. If you were curious about what type of socks to wear with this look, black dress socks are perfect.

But wait! What if the office visit calls for you to dress it up a bit more? No worries, we’ve got just the thing:

· Navy Blue Suit

· White Dress Shirt

· Black Dress Shoes

Bam! Just like that you've stepped it up on em! Here’s how this works. If you purchase a suit that is a nice, navy-blue color with good fabric, you’ll be able to use those same pants in any scenario. Here, you’ll just grab the jacket that matches the pants and add the dress shirt. The same rules apply for accessories with this look as well. Keep it minimal. Also, consider adding a pocket square f you’re not rocking a tie. Pocket square's adds a level of sophistication desired.
