Men's Top 5 Summer Essentials

Gent's, Here Are 5 Summer Items That Should be in Your Closet

Summer, summer, summertime! Yes y’all, that time of the year has returned. Those hot, humid temperatures are back and coming along for the ride are sweaty days. It can be tough to figure out what to wear when it’s so warm out. Trying to create stylish fits without just wanting to be in a tee and shorts all the time is a challenge. However, with the right summer essentials in your rotation, you can beat the heat at its own game.

Each summer offers you a unique chance to try new things with your style. This season is no different. As a result, I’ve rounded up the top 5 summer essentials items to keep you cool and to look even cooler. In no particular order, here are 5 items to give your summer style a boost:

1. Knit Polo or Crochet Shirt

Knit polos and crochet shirts are easily one of the coolest items to have in you wardrobe. Not only are they breathable, there are so many unique styles to choose from. You can dress them up or down, depending on what your day/evening will be like. They look great with shorts, jeans, chinos or trousers. These shirts are perfect for multiple scenarios and genuinely ease the heat.

2. Bucket Hat

Nothing says summertime like a bucket hat. It’s one of the coolest items for the summer. You can wear them with a fresh fit to the pool or in for something a little dressier like a coffee date. Not to mention they shade your face well.

3. Green Pants

A nice pair of green pants can go a long way during the summer. Doesn’t matter if they are chinos, cargo pants or trousers. Personally, I like a green trouser here. You can dress it down with a tee or dress it up with a short sleeve shirt. Go for something lightweight and well made.

4. Short Sleeve Shirt (Linen or Eyelet Style)

We all know linen is perfect for warmer days. But I also want you to think about eyelet shirts or perforated shirts as another option. These shirts also provide that same breathable feeling. Not to mention they just look stylish af.

5. Leather Sandal or Braided Loafer

We can’t cover summer essentials without including a couple options for shoes. Adding a nice leather sandal or braided loafer can really expand your style wardrobe. If you pick up a nicely made leather sandal, you’ll find that they too can be worn in multiple scenarios. Clearly, they work for the beach or anything poolside. But you can also dress them up with pants and a shirt. The same rule applies with the braided loafer. You can even wear the loafers with a suit and t-shirt for a semi-formal vibe.

Even though it’s a bit hot out, styling yourself for the summer can be a breeze. It’s all about finding those fashionable, yet breathable items, while showcasing your personality. Once you’ve added these 5 items to your wardrobe, think about the ways you can style them. With the shirts, consider wearing a tank top underneath and leaving a couple button s undone. With the pants, consider giving the bottoms a cuff up to give your ankles some breathing room.

You’ve got some new styles to consider for the summer. Think about what events or places you need to visit, then decide if any of these items can be useful. You’ve got this. Put all your friends on notice, your summer style is ready for whatever!
